Ten places are up for grabs for STEM Future Lawyers members at 'How to make it as a City lawyer' on Thursday 6 July.

The event, hosted by Legal Cheek at BPP Law School in London, features a panel of lawyers from several top City law firms, including Hogan Lovells, Herbert Smith Freehills and Mayer Brown.

Among them is Emma Sturt, an associate in Mayer Brown's banking & finance team, who has a STEM background. Emma studied civil engineering at Durham and then practised for six years as a civil engineer focusing on bridge and structural design. She then did the GDL law conversion course at BPP, followed by the LPC, and then completed her training contract at Mayer Brown.

A panel discussion featuring Emma and Hogan Lovells partner Chris Sutton and Herbert Smith Freehills associate Sid Shukla will run from 6-7pm. Afterwards there will be drinks and networking with the speakers.

Apply to attend below. You'll be asked to submit a CV and two questions for Emma.
