STEM Future Lawyers’ latest event is with leading law firm Bristows, which specialises in advising companies in the technology, life sciences and brands space.

The exclusive session for STEM students takes place on the evening of Thursday 5 December at the firm’s London headquarters on Victoria Embankment.

It features a panel of lawyers working in Bristows’ core practice area of intellectual property. All are STEM graduates who converted to law, from subjects including biochemistry, computer science, chemistry and physics.

They will explain how their science backgrounds help them to advise Bristows’ roster of high profile clients, which include start-ups and multi-nationals in the pharmaceutical, life sciences and electronics industries. Such companies seek Bristows’ advice on protecting and extracting value from their most valuable assets – their inventions.

The speakers will share too their views on the changing legal sector, which itself is evolving to accommodate developments in technology, and give their advice to the next generation of students hoping to follow in their footsteps.

After the panel session, running from 6pm to 7:15pm, there will be drinks, nibbles and networking with the speakers, trainees from the firm and members of Bristows’ graduate recruitment team until 8:30pm.

Apply to attend. You’ll be asked to submit a CV and two questions for the panel. Please note that, subject to consent, the details of those offered places will be shared with Bristows' graduate recruitment team.
